About our speaker:
Skilled in both traditional and advanced digital marketing techniques, Maurer has been a corporate executive with Fortune 500 companies such as Rubbermaid, Cummins Engines, and The Trane Company; a senior consultant for Lexmark, 3M, Yellow Freight, Corporate Express and IBM in addition to being an agency executive for Publicis/Frankel and NetStrategies. Maurer also led Marketing General’s Account Services department for four years, serving more than 40 association clients and managing a staff of 20 professionals. Drawing on a well-honed knowledge of proven marketing strategies, coupled with expertise in the latest internet and data technologies, he brings a depth and breadth of experience integrating corporate communications, marketing strategy, data analytics and online technology to his clients at Marketing General Incorporated.
Maurer's honors include a Golden Telly-winning business video production; a JDPower superior customer service citation for integrated design and results for the Southern California Edison power-crisis loyalty recovery program; and the 2010 PRSA Thoth Award for Excellence in Social Media Marketing. Maurer holds a B.S. in Language Arts from St. Cloud State University; certification in International Business from the World Trade Center; Certified Direct Marketing credentials from Virginia Commonwealth University and Certification in eMarketing from the eMarketing Institute. In addition to these professional achievements, he studies and plays Appalachian old time music on the banjo, guitar, and fiddle. He encourages his audiences to ask him about the out-of-town Yankee chicken farmer!
