Is your organization ready for a crisis within your industry? Are you adequately prepared to support one or more members when a crisis occurs?
Join Hinda Mitchell, president of strategic communications firm Inspire PR Group and named by Columbus Monthly as one of the city’s top crisis counselors, for an interactive training workshop designed for association executives and leaders.
This session will include presentations, video and real-life crisis examples, breakout sessions and scenario planning, as well as time for questions and further conversation.
Your agenda for the morning will cover the following:
- Overview of why organizations and their leaders must understand and prepare for crises
- Successfully engaging with the media in a crisis
- Understanding the role of social media in a crisis
- How organizations can prepare themselves and their members
- When a crisis strikes – how organizations must respond
- The importance of messages in crisis – what you say and how you say it
- Group scenario exercise – creating and using messages, anticipating and responding in crisis using real-life scenarios
- Q&A
At the OSAE quaraterly luncheon, Hinda will give an overview of crisis planning for organizations and associations, with a topline review of key strategies and tips to prepare your organization for crisis.

Credit Hours
As a CAE Approved Provider educational program related to the CAE exam content outline, this program may be applied for 3.5 credits toward your CAE application or renewal professional development requirements.
Consent to use of photographic images: Registration and attendance at or participation in OSAE meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to OSAE’s use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee’s image in photographs, videotapes, and electronic reproduction of such events and activities.
