Administrative Assistant & Office Support

PRIMARY FOCUS: Support the executive director, the Ohio ProStart® program & event manager and the office manager with daily essential functions.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: This position provides support to a wide range of needs related to the Ohio ProStart Program, the ProStart Committee and other functions of the Ohio Restaurant Association Education Foundation (ORAEF) to include the following:
- assisting with events and workshops
- handling school administration correspondence and other activities as requested by the ORAEF executive director and program manager
- exhibiting a strong commitment to customer service
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES ORAEF Administrative Assistant:
- Support the ORAEF executive director and the program manager with activities for the Ohio ProStart Program
- Manage ORAEF database
- Manage school administration files
- Manage donor activity through careful recordkeeping and filing systems
- Record meeting minutes for conference calls and other meetings
- Event support for various meetings and events throughout the year
- Support scholarship program through mailings, correspondence, and event assistance
- Prepare, distribute and track invoices for ORAEF
Office Support Responsibilities:
- Answer all incoming calls
- Order supplies and manage inventory
- Open ORA office each morning
- Manage meeting rooms and scheduling
- Staff catering
- Manage office deliveries and mail
- Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with an array of different personalities in a professional manner
- Able to establish a routine of prompt and accurate reporting and recordkeeping
- Excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking skills and ability to establish priorities to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
- Must also be able to research utilizing the internet and work with company-based programs and databases
- Able to operate standard office equipment, including copier/printer, postage machine, multi-line phone system and others
- Excellent phone, email, interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Works independently and as a team member
Education
- High school graduate
- Associate degree preferred
- Experience in the education field is a plus
Position details:
- 37.5 hours per week (some flexibility)
- Salary starting at $38,000
- Benefits include paid time off; medical, dental and vision insurance; profit sharing and 401K plan
- Will work from ORA office (Campus View Blvd., Columbus, OH)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The job functions may involve some amount of time standing and automobile driving, as well as sitting at a desk working on a computer. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required on an infrequent basis.

Major report: Executive Director of ORA/EF. Secondary report: Office Manager
