How to Handle a Rude Prospect

Rude customers are more bother than they're worth

If you're in business, you'll have to cope with rude customers. That's a problem, because rude customers consume your time and money, not to mention the extra emotional energy it takes to keep them happy.

While you should never tolerate abuse, once you've invested in a business relationship, it's not always easy to extract yourself. It's easy to say "dump that customer" but not so easy to actually do the dumping... especially if you're counting on that revenue.

This is one of those problems that's easier to nip in the bud than to deal with after the fact. Because of this, I recommend dropping a prospect from your sales pipeline, the instant he or she behaves in a rude or thoughtless manner.
