White House Reveals Extent of Lobbying Waivers

At least 16 White House officials were granted waivers

After a public dispute with the Office of Government Ethics (OGE), the White House has shared the names of the employees who have been given waivers from this administration’s ban on hiring former lobbyists.

At least 16 White House officials were granted waivers that allow them to work on issues they had handled in their private-sector careers prior to joining the current administration. This is the same amount of total waivers granted by the previous administration’s entire eight years in the White House.

Also requested by the OGE, but yet to be released, are the waivers granted to Trump appointees throughout the rest of the federal government. It is expected that these waivers will be made public soon.
