How Did We Get Here?

Maybe you’ve heard this before. They probably told you, “you can lose everything and get 10 times that in return.” Did you believe them? If you’re anything like me, you didn’t. Then it happened.

In March 2011, my life changed forever.

One of two cavernous malformations bled, in my brain stem, putting pressure on the nerves that control my vision. Neither of my eyes would open on their own. When I raised the eyelids I was presented with two different images. It was unnerving to say the least. It was a death sentence to say the most.

There was a chance that I wouldn’t live. Everything had been lost.
