New Cuts Of Meat Takes Top Spot As Chefs Predict What's Hot in 2018

Gain insights into the top five spots among food trends heating up in 2018

What are professional chefs predicting as the top food trend at restaurants in 2018? New cuts of meat, according to the National Restaurant Association’s annual survey just released this week.

More than 700 professional chefs and members of the American Culinary Federation shared their thoughts on the annual “What’s Hot” survey to give us a peak into which food, beverages and culinary concepts will be the new items on restaurant menus that everyone is talking about in 2018.

In addition to new cuts of meat, such as shoulder tender, oyster steak, Vegas Strip Steak, and Merlot cut, house-made condiments, street food-inspired dishes (such as tempura, kabobs, dumplings, pupusas), ethnic-inspired breakfast items (think chorizo scrambled eggs and coconut milk pancakes) and sustainable seafood secured the top five spots among food trends heating up in 2018.
