2017 American Associations Day is March 15-16

Plan Now to Participate

Plan now to join other OSAE members at the American Associations Day, the only fly-in for association professionals, on March 15-16, 2017.

The association community is facing many issues in the federal government that threaten our exempt purposes and core management practices. From the much-debated Department of Labor changes to the overtime rules to the Cadillac tax, the association community continues to face many legislative and regulatory issues.

With so many issues facing our community, it is critical that we share with Congress our Power of A message about the importance of associations to society and the economy. We all are from different industries; however, when we speak as a collective voice, we are much stronger. As association professionals, we share a common interest in promoting our sector.

The 2017 sessions will feature briefs on timely issues, as well as how best to communicate The Power of Associations to your elected officials. In addition, you will get valuable face time with colleagues from your home state, association CEOs and other association community leaders. Past attendees have included association professionals from multiple disciplines ranging from Association CEOs to government affairs professionals to membership and component relations professionals. This is our opportunity to come together to engage with one another to advocate for our profession and to learn from the best in our industry.

This unique opportunity allows you, as an association professional, to create connections with policy-makers that will not only advance the association industry, but your own organization as well. Join the ASAE Board reception and network with leaders in our field.

The event is open to any association executive, staff member, or leadership volunteer that is passionate about association issues and wants to make a difference, as well as to meet and network with fellow advocates from across the country. Registration is free, and out-of-town attendees are eligible to receive a scholarship of up to $300 to reimburse travel costs if they visit their members of Congress. OSAE will coordinate Hill visits for our members. Don't forget: This event also includes CAE credit hours.

Register today by contacting Mary Kate Cunningham at 202-626-2787 or mcunningham@asaecenter.org. Visit the Power of A Hill Visit website here to learn more.

Associations have achieved so many legislative successes over the past few years: defending association meetings, repealing the new 1099 requirement, protecting the charitable deduction, adding nonprofits to a small employer tax credit and promoting association meetings as economic drivers. Those successes are due to association executives creating lasting connections with their members of Congress. American Associations Day is your chance to create those connections and lay the groundwork for future legislative successes, both for the association community and your own association.
