Any leadership role worth doing comes with pressure. It should make you thrive not wilt. It should act like adrenaline and not make you yearn for tranquilizers.
But there is a choice with pressure – you can either absorb it, process it and act – or reflect it. Collect and deal with it or amplify it. The danger with the latter is you can pass it on in a negative way.
We have all had bosses we feared. People who tore a strip off us when things went wrong – or when they perceived them to have gone wrong.
