ASAE Welcomes New Congress, Shares Power of A

Congressional members were educated on how associations make America stronger

This week, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) sent letters to Capitol Hill welcoming new members of Congress and sharing how associations make America stronger.

“In virtually every industry and sector, associations advance workers’ job skills and create new employment opportunities. At the heart of our community are people – researchers, innovators, mentors, communicators – whose expertise and hard work collectively help to advance our country and world,” wrote ASAE President and CEO John Graham, FASAE, CAE.

The letter also included a request to meet with each office to share more about The Power of A.

“We want to encourage Members of Congress and their teams to see associations as a community and as a resource for their offices,” said Mary Kate Cunningham, ASAE's vice president of public policy. “We also want new elected officials to understand how critical non-dues revenue is for associations to stay afloat and carry out their tax-exempt purpose.”

This message will be carried to the Hill by association professionals and industry partners at American Associations Day on March 28-29. For more information, visit The Power of A.
