Remembering Ohio's Deep Roots in Early Suffrage Movement

There exists a lot of excitement for the 2020 Women's Vote Centennial Initiative

It's been 99 years since American women gained the right to vote - a milestone achieved thanks in part to the dedication of many Ohioans. 

Women's Equality Day is celebrated on August 26 each year to commemorate the adoption of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution in 1920. 

Megan Wood, director of cultural resources with Ohio History Connection,explains the fight for women's suffrage began long before then, most notably with the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention in New York.
