Ohio Lawmakers Resume Deliberations on School Law HB 70

Many are voicing their support and objections

Ohio lawmakers resumed their deliberations on new state law that could affect Lorain City Schools and other school districts struggling with academics.

The Ohio Senate Education Committee met Sept. 10 for its second hearing on legislation that would change the governance for schools in the state’s academic distress category.

Lorain was not represented among those invited to testify before committee Chairwoman Sen. Peggy Lehner, R-Kettering.
