In 2024, Cleveland to Host ‘Super Bowl’ of Meetings

The city will host ASAE in four short years

For the first time, Cleveland in 2024 will play host to the annual gathering of the American Society of Association Executives, sometimes referred to as the “Super Bowl” of meetings because of the organization’s outsized importance in the convention and meetings industry.

The gathering could attract as many as 6,000 attendees to the Huntington Convention of Cleveland, Hilton Cleveland Downtown and other downtown venues in August 2024, according to David Gilbert, president and CEO of Destination Cleveland. In 2018, the city hosted the OSAE Annual Conference at the Key Center Marriott Downtown and various spots around the area.

“It’s probably the single most important convention we could have landed in terms of its ability to attract more convention and meeting business to Cleveland,” said Gilbert. “It is by far the largest gathering of association executives, who make decisions on where to bring meetings and conventions.”
