Governor DeWine Calls Today 'a Sad Day for Ohio'

He called on Householder to resign immediately

Governor Mike DeWine is calling for the resignation of Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder after Householder was charged in an alleged bribery scheme.

Householder and four other individuals are facing federal racketeering charges related to “a significant conspiracy” case tied to House Bill 6 and the $1 billion bailout it provided to help secure the future of two aging nuclear power plants in Ohio.

In a statement, DeWine said he is deeply concerned about the allegations and every American has the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. He then asked for Householder to resign immediately.
