Medical Groups Help Channel PPE to Small Practices
A national nonprofit clearinghouse that distributes personal protective equipment is collaborating with medical groups to make sure all healthcare workers have the personal protective equipment (PPE) they need to practice safely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The American Medical Association (AMA) and the American College of Physicians (ACP) are just two of the organizations that are working with Project N95, which has distributed more than 800,000 articles of PPE. These two partnerships focus on healthcare workers who aren’t necessarily in large hospital settings. Office-based physicians and independent practitioners may be more easily shut out of PPE supply chains than medical facilities with larger orders, leaving them short of necessary gear.
