Donations Create a Safety Net
The National Hockey League Players’ Association, in conjunction with the National Hockey League and other partners, launched a program to help families who have been financially affected by COVID-19 get their children back into the rink.
The Hockey Equipment Relief Program will distribute more than 7,000 sets of equipment throughout Canada, including $2 million of hockey gear contributed by partner organizations. Hockey is a particularly expensive sport, frequently involving travel to faraway rinks and specialty equipment.
