Improving Access to #Masksforkids
Serena Williams wants to make sure that kids around the country can mask up when they head back to the classroom. Working with the National School Board Association (NSBA) and educational brand Scholastic, the tennis star and T-shirt manufacturer Bella+Canvas have pledged to donate a minimum of 4.25 million masks to under-served schools throughout the country as part of the #MasksForKids initiative.

The program will also create age-appropriate educational resources around the importance of wearing masks, washing hands, social distancing, and protocols for educators and administrators for staying safe during COVID-19.

“Through the #MasksForKids program, schools can access affordable masks and educational materials, quickly,” Williams wrote in an Instagram post. “I’m grateful to be able to help educate our schools about this resource, and to be given the opportunity to serve so many students.”
