California Hospitals are Safe, Open and Ready
It may seem counterintuitive at first blush, but during the global health crisis that is COVID-19, some people are more hesitant than usual to seek medical care. Hospitals in California are attempting to combat this gap in care with a new public service campaign aimed at alerting residents that the state’s hospitals are open and safe.

The centerpiece of the “Care Can’t Wait” campaign is a 30-second spot that will run across television and radio stations, alongside social media efforts. The California Hospital Association, the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California, the Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties and the Hospital Association of Southern California collaborated on the campaign.

“We understand some people may have concerns about coming to a hospital during this unprecedented public health crisis,” said Carmela Coyle, CHA's president and CEO. “But deferring necessary medical care is not the right answer. We want everyone to know that if you or your loved one is experiencing signs of a serious medical condition, hospitals are safe, ready and waiting to care for you.”
