Spotlight on Infection Preventionists
It’s been a busy year, to say the least, for professionals in the field of infection prevention. They’ll be getting a shout-out in the coming days during International Infection Prevention Week, the annual awareness campaign by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). This year’s event runs Oct. 18-24.
“COVID-19 has shown the world what we’ve always known—infection preventionists (IPs) are essential to keeping the world safe. In addition to all the usual suspects (healthcare-associated infections, resurgence in measles outbreaks, flu season, etc.), the infection prevention and control community is fighting a global pandemic for the foreseeable future,” APIC said on its website.
