COVID-19 Update: 6,890 Newly Confirmed Cases

Week of April 18, 2022

Today, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) reported 6,890 new COVID-19 cases and 428 new hospitalizations for the week.

The agency also reported 94 additional deaths from COVID.

The ODH also reported 2,688,327 confirmed cases, 38,558 deaths and 114,966 hospitalizations. The agency also reported 7,301,501 Ohioans have received at least one dose of the vaccine; this figure represents 62.46 percent - a low figure compared to numbers nationwide. The national figure is 82.1 percent.

On March 14, 2022, the ODH announced it will only report COVID-19 data weekly rather than daily. This is in response to a significant decrease in cases and hospitalizations statewide. It will only be reported on Thursday; thus, OSAP will only report it on Thursdays, too.
