Last week, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) announced it hired John Bacon, MBA, to its team as vice president of enterprise sales. His role became effective Oct. 11.
Bacon comes to ASAE following a nationwide search to fill a critical position on ASAE’s customer-facing sales team. He was hired to develop and implement a multi-year strategy to expand, energize and optimize the performance of ASAE’s enterprise-wide sales portfolio, which includes the Alliance Partner Program, advertising and sponsored content, exhibits, digital products and sponsorships.
Bacon comes to ASAE with deep experience in associations and association management. For 15 years, he has worked for Naylor Association Solutions (NAS) and held a range of progressively more senior positions: project and sales manager; account director; senior managing director; and finally, vice president, account management. In his more recent role, Bacon was responsible for leading an account management team that sold the most new business in the company's history. Overseeing a new business development team of four (4) professionals, Bacon broke a company record for new business two years in a row and signed the largest account in company history.
