Destination Toledo recently announced that Lance Woodworth, its president and CEO, has received a distinguished appointment by Governor Mike DeWine to serve on the TourismOhio Advisory Board.
This appointment recognizes Woodworth’s prominent role in Ohio's tourism and destination marketing landscape, and his expertise to further the state's tourism and development strategies.

To bring my decades of experience to this position and advocate for Ohio’s travel and tourism industry is something I’m very proud to do,” said Woodworth. “Thank you to Governor DeWine for this opportunity to help shine a light on Ohio as an ideal place to live, learn, work, and play, by showcasing the state's diverse offerings and unique experiences.”
Woodworth is a Northwest Ohio native and brings a wealth of experience from Ohio’s travel and tourism industry to this appointment. He served as longtime General Manager of the Jet Express and was past Board President of Lake Erie Shores & Islands, prior to Destination Toledo. Lance currently serves on the board of the Ohio Society of Association Professionals (OSAP), Ohio Travel Association, Ohio Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus; he also is a graduate of the Ohio Tourism Leadership Academy.
The TourismOhio Advisory Board is charged with advising the director of the Ohio Department of Development and the director of TourismOhio on strategies for promoting Ohio’s numerous travel destinations and experiences. Woodworth was appointed to a term beginning Oct. 27, 2023, and ending Sept. 27, 2024.
