Plan your In-demand Jobs Week Event Today
The event will take place May 6-10, 2024
The seventh annual In-demand Jobs Week will take place May 6 to May 10, the first full work week of May. In-demand Jobs Week is designed to promote Ohio’s most in-demand and fastest-growing industries through statewide hiring, education, and training events.
In Ohio, we make the things Americans need to live and thrive. This year’s In-D=demand Jobs Week theme is “Ohio, the Heart of Opportunity,” highlighting the various opportunities available now and in the future, right here in the Buckeye State. From internships to apprenticeships, and from careers in manufacturing to healthcare, there is opportunity for you in Ohio.
What kind of events can I host for In-demand Jobs Week?
There are several different events that schools, businesses, and community organizations can host during In-demand Jobs Week. Here are just a few examples:
- Career Fairs & Hiring Events: Host a recruiting event with local businesses in the area at a school or community space.
- Open House / Facility Tours: Invite community members, schools, and prospective employees to come to your business so they can see the types of careers you offer and the space where they could work.
- Roundtable Discussions: Host local business and education leaders to talk about industry needs and how you can work together to better your community.
- Networking Event: Work with a local business (like a restaurant or coffee shop) to host a networking event to foster connections with other businesses and community leaders.
- Host a Resume ‘How-To’ Class: Invite students and community members to a resume building class and show them what employers are looking for in a resume.
- Career Signing Days: Do you have students who are ‘committing’ to a career right after graduation? Help celebrate them by hosting a career signing day at your school.
Once you have your event planned, the state is asking organizations to email event details including date, time, location and a short description to In-demandJobs@jfs.ohio.gov.
