Israeli Prime Minister Warns of its 'Long Arm' of Justice

The Israeli military says it is carrying out more strikes after its attacks in Lebanon

Hasan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, was the target of a strike by Israel on what it said was the group’s “central headquarters” in Beirut on Friday, according to a person familiar with information provided by Israel to the United States after the attack, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.

Whether Nasrallah survived remains unclear. The strike — massive even by the scale of the escalating attacks across much of Lebanon in recent weeks — flattened at least two buildings. The blasts, which could be seen and felt from afar, sent plumes of smoke over neighborhoods in the city’s south.

Later Friday, the Israeli military told residents of three buildings to evacuate and announced it was carrying out “targeted strikes” on Hezbollah targets in southern Beirut.
