Marketing Communications Specialist

Position Overview and Description:

The position of the Marketing Communications Specialist reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Marketing Communications. This position will be responsible for creating all marketing materials that are distributed to customers, including, but not limited to, promotional items such as newsletters, emails and brochures; work with design teams to create other materials such as videos and white papers; distribution of marketing materials through the appropriate channels through research both online and offline channels to learn how to best distribute marketing materials for maximum exposure; track their performance by using metrics such as customer engagement and conversion rates to identify ways they can improve during future marketing campaigns; report on marketing campaign performance to analyze data and create presentations on that analysis to deliver to upper management; managing projects from the beginning, including the approval stage, to completion and working with various internal teams, including graphic designers.

This position will also possesses knowledge of marketing trends and strategies; can also apply that knowledge to practical skills; know how to take seemingly uninteresting concepts and translate them into campaigns that drive customer engagement and conversion; present marketing ideas in a clear manner that even the least knowledgeable customers can understand; use their writing skills to translate complicated technical jargon into customer-facing materials

Primary Job Functions:

  • Promote all American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) products and services
  • Responsible for planning of company promotional and advertising communications projects such as electronic, print and special events to execute parts of the marketing plan
  • Coordinate the design of promotional material and distribute in online and offline channels; Supervise the design, production and distribution of collateral and promotional materials to aid company’s sales and marketing programs
  • Advertise the company and products/services on various media outlets
  • Produce marketing copy for our website; Create original, error-free, clear and concise copy for website content, promotional materials, blog entries and newsletters that ensures compelling and effective communication
  • Craft and send regular newsletters with company updates
  • Track ROI for marketing campaigns; Create relevant reports on marketing programs, including post-event reports, regular status reports, and analysis
  • Join social media groups and professional platforms to discuss industry-related topics
  • Network with industry experts and potential clients to drive awareness
  • Gather customer feedback to inform sales and product teams
  • Assist in marketing plan preparation, including budget and short and long-term strategy
  • Ensure effective monitoring and maintenance of company’s marketing budget and application
  • Spot new marketing opportunities for company and carry out marketing initiatives
  • Assist in hiring contractors, including copywriters, advertising and marketing agencies and external consultants; and serve as a liaison with contractors
  • Coordinate company’s involvement in the activities of community organizations
  • Assisting in the execution of promotional and educational videos, organization of communications for industry-specific events and trade shows and production of targeted email campaigns

Professional Profile and Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably marketing, public relations or communications
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, and the ability to gather, understand and synthesize information from a variety of sources
  • Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities and meet firm deadlines
  • Familiarity with nonprofit associations is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of Web and social media trends
  • Strong experience with social media marketing campaign
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated capability to work well with diverse individuals at all levels, inside and outside the organization
  • Team player; ability to work in a team environment within department and cross departmentally
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Experience with marketing campaigns on social media
  • Experience with various advertising campaigns
  • Knowledge in the use of Constant Contact and other email marketing software
