HR Generalist

General Overview:

  • Know and understand the benefits offered by the company and communicate them in a positive way to current and prospective employees
  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding and benefit enrollment of new hires
  • Represent the company professionally to third-party providers, prospective employees and community organizations
  • Assist management with the performance review process, emphasizing consistency throughout the company
  • Maintain employee files in a manner consistent with the law
  • Advise management on employment law issues

Recruitment

  • Attend career fairs on behalf of the organization to recruit both union and non-union positions
  • Promote IBuildAmerica.com as a career choice tool
  • Seek community resources and develop relationships with the organizations to market open positions with the company and source individuals for potential employment
  • Manage the in-person and online employment prospects
  • File employment applications and resumes in order to retain prospect list as employment opportunities arise
  • Screen potential applicants and be a first point of contact for prospects, as assigned
  • Review all offer letters and job advertising for compliance and consistency
  • Provide feedback to all valid applicants

Onboarding

  • Orientation duties as assigned

Employee Benefits

  • Understand and communicate all aspects of the benefit package
  • Complete enrollment process for participating benefits in cooperation and coordination with the Chief Financial Officer
  • Develop relationship with benefit providers to establish points of contact for various questions to navigate the claims process
  • Be an advocate for employees
  • Communicate any employee changes to various benefit providers
  • Act as a first-resource to trouble-shoot benefit/claim questions for employees
  • Provide feedback on vendor performance to the CFO as benefits are procured
  • Understand and communicate the Health and Wellness Program, Employee Assistance Program, and Employee Emergency Assistance Fund
  • Communicate changes to plan benefits positively and clearly
  • Become versed in the benefit packages of the various unions that Igel is signatory to and assist employees with associated paperwork or resources

General

  • Become and remain DOT- certified to be a drug-test collector for urine drug test specimens
  • Assist in providing drug test collections as needed
