SAE Engagement Boosts Association Laboratory's Latest Data

The 2019 Looking Forward survey contains even richer content

Association Laboratory’s annual association environmental scanning paper, “Looking Forward™,” a collaborative research effort conducted with leaders of the association management profession, has seen its largest response to date due to a unique and beneficial relationship with state societies of association executives.

In November 2018, Association Laboratory began its eighth annual environmental scan of the association strategy environment, Looking Forward™. More than 200 CEOs responded this year out of more than 400 association leaders in total. They represent members in more than 20 sectors and lead everything from local to global trade and professional associations. Association Laboratory saw a 25 percent response rate increase over 2018 due to this new relationship with the state society of association executives' organizations, including the Ohio Society of Association Executives (OSAE). Following are those state SAEs, including OSAE, that participated in the 2019 research:

  • The California Society of Association Executives
  • The Colorado Society of Association Executives
  • The Florida Society of Association Executives
  • The Georgia Society of Association Executives
  • The Iowa Society of Association Executives
  • The Ohio Society of Association Executives, and
  • The Tennessee Society of Association Executives

Along with additional participation from the American Association of Medical Society Executives (AAMSE), state societies' participation in this study contributes to the diversity and quality of insights gained from associations around the nation.

“We are excited about our relationship with AAMSE and the State SAEs who are working with us," said Dean West, FASAE, the founder and president of Association Laboratory, Inc. "Not only does it increase the diversity of responses, it widens the reach of the report and what associations have access to it. We are looking to partner with more SAEs and broaden and strengthen our report and research”.

The eighth annual environmental scan of the association strategy environment, Looking Forward™, will be published and available in March 2019 at a rate of $95.00 per copy and available online.  OSAE members who participated in the research will have priority access to the report and a wealth of additional supporting documents, prior to being released to the public.
