Feb. 4 Webinar to Focus on Voluntary Certification Threats

OSAE among those participating in the ASAE-sponsored webinar

On Monday, Feb. 2, 2019, the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and its Government Relations Section Council (GRSC) are hosting a free webinar on the proliferation of state legislation that challenges voluntary professional credentialing programs run by associations.

Last year, ASAE and the Professional Certification Coalition had some success defeating or modifying occupational licensing reform bills in several states, including Ohio, but are still tracking similar bills in about a dozen other states.

On this webinar, which will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. ET, a panel of experts will help association government relations professionals understand and respond to this ongoing state issue.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Craig Saperstein, an attorney at Pillsbury LLP who manages the Professional Certification Coalition. Other panelists include Skip Braziel, J.D., the American Institute of CPAs; Jarrod A. Clabaugh, CAE, the Ohio Society of Association Executives (OSAE); and Maureen Thompson, the CFP Board.
