Central Ohio Home Sales Leap in September

Home sales in the area jumped 8.9 percent last month

Home sales in the Columbus area jumped 8.9 percent in September, the biggest increase in almost three years. Prices, which have risen 7 percent to 8 percent most of the year, rose a more modest 5.6 percent during the month. Sellers remain in firm control of the market, however, as the number of homes for sale remains exceptionally low.

Central Ohio home sales jumped the highest level in almost three years in September while prices showed signs of calming.

During the month, 2,824 homes changed hands, 8.9 percent above September 2018, the biggest year-over-year increase since November 2016.
