Cherry Valley Hotel Reopens in Newark, Minus the Water Park

Investors spent $13 million transforming the property into the Cherry Valley Hotel

Investors have spent $13 million transforming the former Cherry Valley Lodge into the Cherry Valley Hotel in Newark. One big change was replacing CoCo Water Resort with a 45,000-square-foot event and exhibit space. But every corner of the property was redone, from hotel rooms to the restaurant to the grounds and spa.

Three years after it was put up for sale, Newark’s Cherry Valley Lodge has returned to life as the Cherry Valley Hotel & Event Center, minus one key feature.

Gone is CoCo Key Water Resort, which was attached to the lodge for a dozen years. In its place is a 45,000-square-foot event center that the owners hope will draw conventions, events and associations.
