COVID-19 Update: 33,006 Cases, 2,002 Deaths Reported in Ohio

Today, Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton held a their daily briefing to discuss coronavirus (COVID-19) and the latest on efforts to reopen Ohio’s economy. Currently, in Ohio, there are 33,006 cases reported, 2,002 deaths and 5,579 hospitalizations. 

DeWine started today's briefing by discussing hot spots in Ohio’s nursing homes. He has tasked his team to work with the Ohio National Guard, local health departments and hospitals to create an assistance plan. He said the plan will start this week and include congregate care unified response teams. 

It was also noted that the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMW) deputy registrar offices reopened this week; however, the BMV is encouraging people not to rush in, noting many of their services can be completed online.
