Ohio Statehouse Damaged During Protests Over Death of George Floyd

Other downtown businesses were targeted, as well

Aside from other businesses downtown, the Ohio Statehouse was a target of protesters as they tried to breach the building Thursday night.

The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board is responsible for maintaining the Statehouse and Capitol Square.

In a news release, the board said there were 28 windows panes shattered along the west and south sides of the Statehouse as well as damage to the wood frames.

At 2:30 p.m. today, Governor Mike DeWine will be holding a press conference to discuss the events.
