School Reopening Plans
When it’s time for the country’s more than 13,000 school districts to reopen for in-person classes—something that is likely to happen this fall for some—administrators are going to need help figuring out the best approach.

With that in mind, AASA, the School Superintendents Association, is offering just those resources, which it has developed through a task force it convened at then end of April. On Friday, the association released guidelines with recommendations for its members.

The guiding principles recommend that districts plan for multiple reopening scenarios—including a return to in-person classes, a continuance of virtual, or a blended approach—with an aim at flexibility based on changing needs. Additionally, the guiding principles aim to ensure that students have equal access to technology for virtual learning.
