Reskilling the Workforce
The need to reskill employees for new types of technology and new job roles has been discussed in theory for years. But the coronavirus pandemic is turning theory into reality, according to a new Ad Council campaign.
“Find Something New” aims to help people who have been displaced from their jobs to find new ways forward in the rapidly changing job market. With support from the Business Roundtable, corporate giants such as Apple and IBM, and the Trump administration’s American Workforce Policy Advisory Board, the campaign highlights education and training that can lead to new career paths.
“The job market has been shaken in ways none of us have ever seen. Many Americans need a new way forward, and developing their career skills can expand their opportunities,” Ad Council President and CEO Lisa Sherman said in a news release. “Our Find Something New campaign, backed by an extraordinary coalition of supporters, will empower people all across the country to find the education and training path that’s right for them.”
