Ohio BWC Announces Several Major Changes

These changes include holding their 2021 safety congress online

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) announced today that its 2021 annual Ohio Safety Congress & Expo will be online only. Those who attend have been asked to mark their calendars for March 10-11, 2021.

The event will feature dozens of learning sessions and a digital expo, allowing participants to chat virtually with vendors about new and existing products and services. As always, the event will remain free for Ohio employers.

The BWC indicated that it will open registration at www.ohiosafetycongress.com in January 2021.

Additionally, the BWC shared that the BWC Ohio Center for Occupational Safety and Health (OCOSH) is moving from Pickerington to downtown Columbus at the end of October. This will not change the way employers contact them.

Remote services during the COVID-19 pandemic will continue. However, OCOSH’S address will change to the 25th floor of the William Green Building, 30 W. Spring St., Columbus, OH 43215. OCOSH houses the BWC's division of safety & hygiene. According to the BWC, the agency is moving the center to its headquarters to foster greater collaboration with its other divisions, fill the available space they have in the William Green Building and reduce operational costs.
