Current updates on association response to the global COVID-19 crisis, along with a roundup of conference, travel and business news and information.

Closing the Homework Gap
Although schools across the country are relying on remote and hybrid learning, 9.7 million students—half of whom are students of color—don’t have a reliable high-speed internet connection to complete their work at home, according to nonprofit EducationSuperHighway.

To help reduce achievement disparities and ensure students have equitable access to internet service at home, ESH partnered with NCTA – the Internet & Television Association to launch the “K-12 Bridge to Broadband” initiative earlier this month.

Building on recent successful partnerships in Chicago, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, and several other cities, the new initiative will help school districts quickly identify students without service at home and then purchase internet service for those families through sponsored agreements with NCTA members.
