COVID-19 Update: 4,358 Newly Confirmed COVID-19 Cases, 5,186 Deaths

Today, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) released the latest statistics tied to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. ODH reported 4,358 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases and a total of 101 hospitalizations today.

In Thursday's press briefing, Governor Mike DeWine said the state continues to see increases in COVID-19 patients hospitalized. As of Thursday, there are 2,075 current patients in the hospital – a 55 percent increase compared to two weeks ago, according to the governor. 

It also reported 236,529 confirmed cases, 5,186 deaths and 20,238 hospitalizations. The department also reported 184,556 presumed recoveries.

ODH also reported 13,739 probable cases and 331 additional deaths under an expanded case definition of COVID-19 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
