COVID-19 Update: Another Single-day High of 6,989 Confirmed Cases

Today, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) released the latest statistics tied to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. ODH reported reported 6,989 newly confirmed cases and 267 hospitalizations today.

Over the past two weeks, the rolling average number of daily new cases has increased by more than 114 percent.

According to an article from WBNS-10TV,  Sixty-eight counties are now "Red" in the state's COVID-19 advisory system to track the spread of the virus. Franklin County was placed on the watch list for Level 4 (Purple) – "severe exposure and spread."

ODH also reported 259,499 confirmed cases, 5,316 deaths and 21,278 hospitalizations. The department also reported 194,846 presumed recoveries.

ODH also reported 14,958 probable cases and 342 additional deaths under an expanded case definition of COVID-19 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
