COVID-19 Update: Surge Continues 7,552 Confirmed Cases Reported Today

Today, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) reported 7,552 newly confirmed cases and 512 hospitalizations. This is 287 less than the single-day record of 7,839 confirmed cases reported by state health officials yesterday..
Over the past two weeks, the rolling average number of daily new cases has increased by more than 114 percent.
According to an article from WBNS-10TV, 68 counties are now "Red" in the state's COVID-19 advisory system to track the spread of the virus. Franklin County was placed on the watch list for Level 4 (Purple) – "severe exposure and spread."
ODH also reported 274,890 confirmed cases, 5,367 deaths and 21,790 hospitalizations. The department also reported 200,715 presumed recoveries. ODH also reported 15,353 probable cases and 347 additional deaths under an expanded case definition of COVID-19 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
