COVID-19 Update: 7,587 Newly Confirmed Cases, 399 Hospitalizations

Nov. 19, 2020

Today, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) reported 7,587 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases and 339 hospitalizations. Meanwhile, thousands of reports are still pending review.

"We made a decision to double-check all antigen test results, so the 24-hour case change is low," said Governor Mike DeWine at today's briefing. "Our data team tells us there are 12,000 antigen tests that have not yet been double-checked. Most of the 12,000 are expected to be confirmed."

ODH also reported 310,103 confirmed cases, 5,462 deaths and 22,543 hospitalizations. The department also reported 212,713 presumed recoveries.

ODH also reported 16,512 probable cases and 368 additional deaths under an expanded case definition of COVID-19 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
