Ohio EPA Announces Upcoming Webinars on Host of Topics

These topics include health and safety, environmental practices and more

Recently, OSAE was contacted by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and asked to share some upcoming webinars the agency is conducting for Ohio residents and businesses. This information pertains to a host of different business segments.

Do you need to develop a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) to comply with a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System industrial storm water permit? The Ohio EPA will help learn the elements of a SWPPP and mistakes to avoid.

The agency's Division of Environmental and Financial Assistance will be conducting a webinar to better understand how to prepare a SWPPP. Join other Ohio peers on Feb. 11 to help you better understand how to develop these plans. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the session. Continuing Education Units will also be available for this webinar.

Did you know that you can reduce your hazardous waste requirement by managing fluorescent lamps, batteries, aerosol cans, antifreeze, paint and paint-related waste as universal waste? This webinar will cover Ohio’s universal waste rules, a subset of the hazardous waste rules that provide more flexibility and less stringent management options for these commonly generated hazardous wastes.

Join the agency’s Division of Environmental and Financial Assistance, in conjunction with the Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization (DERR), on Feb. 23 to get the scoop on what’s new, updates and highlights for Ohio's universal waste rules. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the session. Continuing Education Units will also be available for this webinar.

Lastly, in March, the EPA is once again partnering with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation’s (BWC) Safety Congress to offer several webinars. If you find yourself wearing  multiple hats managing your business’s environment, safety and health regulations, these are the webinars you should attend. Ohio EPA recognizes that it can be a challenge to understand and keep up with all the regulations that apply to your business. This extended portion of the 2021 Ohio Safety Congress & Expo will include four environmental sessions that will help keep you and your business out of trouble.
