Dow Rebounds 450 Points

This wiped out Monday's losses

U.S. stocks rebounded on Tuesday following a technology-centered market rout in the previous session.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained about 450 points, earning back all of Monday's losses. The S&P 500 rose 1.5 percent and the Nasdaq Composite rallied roughly 1.7 percent.

Mega-cap technology names were solidly in the green on Tuesday. Netflix rose 3.5 percent, Amazon gained 1.6 percent and Apple and Alphabet advanced more than 1 percent each. Facebook shares rose 2 percent following a 5 percent slide on Monday due to a whistleblower's claims and a site outage.
