Fire at Ohio Nurses Association Considered Suspicious, Building Destroyed

Arson investigators are currently examining its cause

A weekend fire that heavily damaged the headquarters of the Ohio Nurses Association (ONA) on Columbus' Northwest Side is being investigated as suspicious, a city fire official said Monday.

The fire began around 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the headquarters of the ONA, located at 3760 Ridge Mill Dr. No one was inside the building at the time and no injuries were reported, Columbus fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin said.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. Martin said the Columbus Division of Fire's arson investigators are conducting an investigation, however, the damage to the building is extensive, which will likely prolong the investigation.
