COVID-19 Update: 18,247 Newly Confirmed Cases

Today, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) reported 18,247 new COVID-19 cases and 549 new hospitalizations for the week.

The agency did not report any additional deaths from COVID.

The ODH also reported 2,798,900 confirmed cases, 38,857 deaths and 117,939 hospitalizations. The agency also reported 7,343,394 Ohioans have received at least one dose of the vaccine; this figure represents 62.82 percent - a low figure compared to numbers nationwide, which are approximately 82.7 percent of the populace.

On March 14, 2022, the ODH announced it will only report COVID-19 data weekly rather than daily. This is in response to a significant decrease in cases and hospitalizations statewide. It will only be reported on Thursday; thus, OSAP will only report it on Thursdays, too.
