COVID-19 Update: 25,280 Newly Confirmed Cases

Week of August 29, 2022

Today, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) reported 25,280 new COVID-19 cases and 575 new hospitalizations for the week.

The agency also reported 84 news deaths.

The ODH also reported 3,074,826 confirmed cases.

As of August 25, 7,448,104 Ohioans have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. That accounts for 63.72 percent of the state's population.- a low figure compared to numbers nationwide, which are approximately 79.2 percent of the populace.

On March 14, 2022, the ODH announced it will only report COVID-19 data weekly rather than daily. This is in response to a significant decrease in cases and hospitalizations statewide. It will only be reported on Thursday; thus, OSAP will only report it on Thursdays, too.
