Ohio BWC Makes Private Employer True-up Reporting Announcement

According to the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC), the true-up online report will be available on July 1, 2023 for private employers. At the end of the policy year, the BWC must ensure the estimated premium it set for you was correct.

To do this, you must file a true-up report that reflects the actual payroll for that policy year. You must complete the report online using the payroll true-up report service offering by August 15, 2023.

If your true-up payroll exceeds the estimated payroll, you will owe additional premium, the BWC said. If your true-up payroll is less than your estimated payroll, you will receive a premium credit. An employer must submit a payroll true-up report even if it has zero payroll.
