OAPA Executive Director Transition is Underway

OSAP Board Member Tracy Vanneman, CAE will lead the organization

The Ohio Association of Physician Assistants (OAPA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Tracy L. Vanneman, CAE, for the position of executive director. She will begin her tenure with OAPA on Sept. 1, 2023.

Vanneman is an association and nonprofit management professional with nearly 20 years of experience in leadership, communications, governance, membership, meeting planning, sponsorship and more. She most recently served as executive director of the 9,500+ member Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) and has also worked for the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives and Toledo Botanical Garden. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University and lives in northwest Ohio with her husband (a teacher and girls basketball coach), their four children and their rescue dog.

“Tracy Vanneman was a clear contender from the beginning, with two decades of expertise in various aspects of association and nonprofit management," said OAPA President Matthew Freado. "She has her CAE and serves on the board of directors of the Ohio Society of Association Professionals. Her previous experiences and recent role and responsibilities as executive director at a large association demonstrate her successful track record. Through the interviews and scoring process, it was clear that Tracy brings a strong combination of knowledge, skills and experience and will be an asset to our association and its members."
