‘Active shooting’ situation at Chapel Hill campus with reports of one wounded

Officials at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have issued an "all-clear" update more than four hours after reports first emerged of an active shooting situation on campus.

Local law enforcement and UNC officials issued an alert just after 1pm Monday about "an armed and dangerous person" on or near the campus. At least one person was wounded, The Daily Tar Heel reported.

The suspect is still being sought, ABC11 said, after initial unconfirmed reports claimed someone had been taken into custody.
