NY Civil Trial Accusing Trump of Fraud Related to Wealth Claims Starts Today
The former president has denounced the trial and its charges

"They were lying year after year after year," said Kevin Wallace, a lawyer in James' office, in an opening statement as the politician sat at the defense table. He looked straight ahead, arms crossed, facing away from a screen that showed details of Wallace's presentation.
