Anduril & Ohio Aim to “Rebuild the Arsenal” for National Security
The announcement came from the governor's office this morning
On behalf of Governor Mike DeWine, Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted, federal and local leaders, One Columbus and the Ohio business community, JobsOhio has partnered with Anduril Industries for a critical national security project to revolutionize the nation's approach to defense manufacturing.
Together, the entities are "rebuilding the arsenal" to protect and defend the United States. Team Ohio is answering the call.
With support from JobsOhio, the DeWine administration, One Columbus, Pickaway County and other partners, Anduril will build a 5 million-square-foot facility on 500 acres in Central Ohio near Rickenbacker International Airport. At this cutting-edge manufacturing plant, Anduril will "Rebuild the Arsenal" of national defense tools by hyper-scaling the production of sophisticated military drones, fundamentally changing how the defense industry builds critical resources.
To achieve this goal, Anduril will hire 4,008 workers by 2035 to staff the state-of-the-art Arsenal-1 facility, while committing to $530,319,233 in payroll. That makes this the largest job-creation and new payroll project in Ohio's history. Anduril will tap into Ohio's third-largest manufacturing workforce, a statewide network of hundreds of universities, community colleges and technical centers, and leverage JobsOhio's talent acquisition services.
With Team Ohio's support, construction on the facility is expected to begin immediately; the first products will be manufactured beginning in July 2026.
